Blue Springs Baptist Church is located in Somerville in the Florette Community of Morgan County, Alabama. We have a rich history and heritage but we believe our best days lie ahead of us as we look to our Savior to guide our future as we reach out to our community and beyond.

Our Beliefs
We are a Southern Baptist church and prescribe to the basic beliefs and doctrines found in the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

Blue Springs Baptist Church voluntarily cooperates with and supports the work of The Southern Baptist Convention in order to further our ministry and missions impact around the world. We channel a percentage of our tithes, offerings, and resourcescplogo_color_hires through The Cooperative Program. To this end, we cooperatively participate with the following organizations:

The Morgan Baptist Association is a fellowship of 72 churches and pastors who seek to impactMorganBaptistAssociationRoundFinal Morgan County and beyond for Jesus Christ.

The Alabama Baptist State Convention is comprised of 3173 alsbomchurches, 50 Church Plants, 27 Missions, and 5 Satellits who are focused on meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the people of Alabama and beyond.

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) ®, founded in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, is the largest Protestant evangelical denomination in the World with over 14.5 million members who worship in more than 50,000 churches in the United States. Southern Baptists sponsor over 3000 missionaries and spouses serving the United States and its territories, Canada, and the Caribbean, as well as supporting the work of 3,635 missionaries and their families around the world (10/31/2021) in 153 nations, and numerous colleges and seminaries. The SBC baptizes one person every thirty-five seconds and starts a new church every twenty minutes, somewhere around the globe!

The term “Southern Baptist Convention” refers to both the convention and its annual meeting. Working through 1,175 local associations and 41 state conventions, Southern Baptists share a common bond of basic Biblical beliefs and a commitment to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world.

One becomes a Southern Baptist by uniting with a Southern Baptist church – one in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist enterprise of reaching the world for Christ. Typically church membership is a matter of receiving Jesus as your Savior and Lord and experiencing believer’s baptism by immersion.
