Blue Springs Baptist Church is located in Somerville in the Florette Community of Morgan County, Alabama. Founded in 1846, we have a rich history and heritage, but we believe our best days lie ahead as we look to our Savior to guide our future and as we reach out to our community and beyond.

Our Beliefs
We are a Southern Baptist church and prescribe to the basic beliefs and doctrines found in the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

Denominational Affiliation
Blue Springs Baptist Church voluntarily cooperates with and supports the work of The Southern Baptist Convention in order to further our ministry and missions impact around the world. We channel a percentage of our tithes, offerings, and resourcescplogo_color_hires through The Cooperative Program. To this end, we cooperatively participate with the following organizations:

The Morgan Baptist Association is a fellowship of 68 churches and pastors (as of January 2026) who seek to impactMorganBaptistAssociationRoundFinal Morgan County and beyond for Jesus Christ.

The Alabama Baptist State Convention is comprised of 3135 alsbomchurches, 73 Associations, & 18 Missions with about 933,549 members (as of April 15, 2025). They are focused on meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the people of Alabama and beyond.

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) ®, founded in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, is the largest Protestant evangelical denomination in the World with over 12.7 million members (as of 2025) who worship in more than 46,876 churches in the United States. Southern Baptists sponsor over 6,100 missionaries and chaplains serving the United States and its territories, Canada, and the Caribbean, as well as supporting the work of 3,551 international missionaries and their families around the world (2026) in 155 nations, and numerous colleges and seminaries.

The term “Southern Baptist Convention” refers to both the convention and its annual meeting. Working through nearly 1067 local associations and 41 state conventions, Southern Baptists share a common bond of basic Biblical beliefs and a commitment to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world.

One becomes a Southern Baptist by uniting with a Southern Baptist church – one in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist enterprise of reaching the world for Christ. Typically, church membership is a matter of receiving Jesus as your Savior and Lord and experiencing believer’s baptism by immersion.
